UX audit · Ireland

A UX audit that tells you
what to fix first.

Your team has a theory about why people drop off. I go through your website or app the way a first-time customer would, and show you what’s actually getting in the way. You get a ranked fix list, not a slide deck.

What a UX audit covers

Everything between your customer
and the finish line.

01 / The task

Can someone do the one thing that matters: buy, book, apply or sign up?

I follow the real route, step by step, on the devices your customers use.

02 / Forms and errors

Where do fields, checks and error messages stop people?

Most drop-off I find lives here. Lost progress, unclear errors and surprise questions.

03 / Words and labels

Do buttons, menus and headings say what people expect?

If your team’s name for something isn’t your customer’s name for it, people get lost.

04 / Trust and cost

Do people know what happens next, and what it’ll cost them?

Hidden fees, vague delivery times and sudden account walls all cost you sales.

05 / Mobile and accessibility basics

Does it hold up on a phone, a keyboard and a screen reader?

I flag obvious barriers. For a full WCAG and European Accessibility Act check, see the accessibility evaluation.

Not a slide deck

What lands
on your desk.

01

Screenshots of every problem, with the page, device and task

02

What’s wrong, how bad it is and how sure I am

03

What to change, and what still needs testing with real people

04

A ranked fix list, with a way to check each fix worked

How it runs

Three steps.
All in writing.

01

Short call, written scope

We agree who it’s for, which screens and tasks, what’s out of scope and the fee.

02

The audit

I go through every agreed task and record what I see, kept apart from what I think it causes.

03

Findings and walkthrough

You get the ranked fix list. If the proposal includes it, I walk your team through it.

Pick the right tool

UX audit, usability testing
or accessibility check?

UX audit

Fast, expert, no recruitment.

Best when something is live or clickable and you need a prioritised fix list soon. It can’t tell you what real customers will do. Nobody’s audit can.

Usability testing

Watch real people try the task.

Best when you need proof, or the audit raised questions only customers can answer. See usability testing.

Accessibility evaluation

Barriers for disabled people, checked properly.

Best when you need to know where you stand on WCAG and the European Accessibility Act. See accessibility evaluation.

Proof, not promises

My public review of the Hexis Athlete sign-up shows what a UX audit can prove, and what still needs testing with real people.

UX audit FAQs

Straight answers.

How much does a UX audit cost in Ireland?

It depends on how many screens and tasks are in scope and what you want at the end. After a short call I send a written proposal with a fixed fee. Nothing starts until you’ve agreed it.

How long does a UX audit take?

That’s set by the scope too. A single focused task takes far less time than a whole product. The proposal gives you the delivery date before you commit.

What do you need from us?

The screens or flow to look at, who uses it, a login or prototype link, anything you already know, and your deadline. The brief builder helps you pull that together.

Can you audit an app or a prototype, not just a website?

Yes. Live websites, mobile apps, web apps and clickable prototypes all work. If people can click through it, I can audit it.

Is a UX audit the same as an accessibility audit?

No. A UX audit flags obvious accessibility barriers along the way. A full accessibility evaluation checks agreed pages against WCAG properly, with steps to reproduce each barrier.

Will you fix the problems you find?

No. I find the problems and tell you what to fix first. You choose who builds it. That keeps my advice honest.

Do you work with teams outside Dublin?

Yes. UX audits run remotely, so your location doesn’t matter.
